Let’s Be Fearless

What is being fearless? According to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary, fearlessness means, free of fear, brave. Fearlessness Definition & Meaning - Merriam-Webster

When you wake up in the morning, do your feet hit the floor fearlessly running toward the adventures of the day, or are you afraid of what the day may bring? Having a fear of something is the ego talking you out of being fearless of everything.

When an unconditioned ego runs amok, all kinds of bad actions, or bad behavior can rule the day, instead of fearlessness. Reconditioning the ego however, requires patience, love, a lot of understanding, and a lifetime to work on it. Do you believe you have all the time you need in the world to accomplish what you need to accomplish? Fearless people believe they do.

The definition of the ego below, shows the many facets of the human psyche the ego can have control over. The ego mediates between the conscious and unconscious, the ego is responsible for reality testing, and personal identity. This allows the ego free range to play its fearful game when allowed to run amok.

EGO

NOUN

1. a person's sense of self-esteem or self-importance.

"a boost to my ego"

synonyms:

· psychoanalysis

the part of the mind that mediates between the conscious and the unconscious and is responsible for reality testing and a sense of personal identity. Compare with id and superego.

synonyms:

subconscious mind · subconscious · unconscious mind · psyche · superego · id · inner self · innermost self · self · inner man/woman

· philosophy

(in metaphysics) a conscious thinking subject.

However, when the ego is allowed to function with the intelligent mind in control, the ego can be quite the ally in helping you be fearless. The ego is relentless, you want this quality when chasing down your dreams.

The ego has the ability to help you accomplish all you wish in life, in a fearless and helpful manner, as opposed to a fearful, destructive manner. To see the ego for what it is, and to get to know your ego, so it can become a willing, helpful partner, instead of a destructive one, takes practice.

When you are afraid, that is ego. When you are fearless, that is your intelligence in control of your ego. Any and all negative feelings, and negative emotions, are ego. Anything you take a second look at, but are not afraid to try, is your intelligence in charge of your ego. So trust your intelligence, and be fearless.

When you realize the ego is in control of your feelings, that is the moment that presence, or your unconscious self, comes into play, and diminishes the ego’s influence. For that split second moment, you are in complete control.

Practice staying in those moments by controlling your ego with patience and love, and remaining fearless while doing so. Allow yourself to love your ego, and be patient with your ego, for you are not separate from each other.

Remember from your own experience, that when the ego acts like an unruly child, you would not punish an unruly child, you would try to talk to them with love and patience. When your ego is unruly, the ego is your unruly child, so you might want to give it the same consideration.

As with all worthwhile adventures in life, learning about your own ego, is a lifelong journey. As my Grandma always said, “Good things come to those who wait”, and I would also add, “Good things also come to those who work hard during their journey.”

Good Luck, and Carpe Diem!!!
